  • Ondo APC united for Tinubu’s second term, Okunomo declares

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State is united and fully focused on securing the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, a chieftain of the party, Banji Okunomo, has declared.

Okunomo, while speaking on the political situation within the party, said the absence of a governorship election in Ondo State in 2027 had made the presidential election the major focus of APC members in the state.

According to him, members of the party are largely unanimous in their support for President Tinubu’s bid for a second term, noting that the President’s support base extends beyond the APC.

“The central agenda of our party in Ondo State is how we will contribute meaningfully to ensuring that our great party retains power at the centre.

“As we all know, Ondo State does not have a governorship election in the 2027 general election cycle, our election having gone off the normal electoral cycle. Therefore, the major election that is of central concern to members of the APC in Ondo State is the presidential election,” he said.

Okunomo, however, admitted that all was not entirely harmonious within the state chapter, particularly over some National Assembly candidacies.

He acknowledged that some aspirants and candidates whose names were allegedly substituted by the national leadership of the party were challenging the decisions through appropriate channels.

He noted that while some of those affected had resorted to the courts, others had left the APC to pursue their political ambitions on the platforms of other parties.

“Therefore, as far as the National Assembly elections are concerned, the level of consensus is understandably not the same as what we have regarding the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.

Okunomo nevertheless maintained that the disagreements would not undermine the strength of the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

He expressed optimism that the disputes would be resolved either politically or through the courts, stressing that the APC remained a “strong and formidable political family” in Ondo State.

“What I am saying, simply, is that we are united and focused on returning President Tinubu for another term. On that objective, we are largely on the same page,” he said.

He added that the party had the capacity to resolve its internal differences and emerge stronger ahead of the 2027 general election.

President of the Ondo State All Stars Football Veterans, Rafiu Yusuf (Elele), disclosed this at a press briefing in Akure, the Ondo State Capital.

“Only one team from the South-West zone will qualify for the national competition, scheduled to hold in Ogun State in November,” he said.

Yusuf said Ondo State had consistently represented the zone at the national level, including last year when it emerged as the only South-West state to qualify for the national tournament in Lagos.

He assured the visiting states of maximum security, saying arrangements had been made with the police, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Amotekun Corps and other relevant security agencies to ensure a safe environment for players and spectators.

The organisers appealed to residents of Ondo State, individuals and the state government to support the tournament, describing the participation of five states as an opportunity to showcase Akure and promote football in the state.

They also urged sports writers in the state to help publicise and propagate he tournament, calling on residents to turn out in large numbers to support the Ondo team.

  • OPINION: Ondo South APC Must Heal Its Wounds Before 2027

“A house divided against itself may stand for a while, but when the real storm comes, its cracks will surely be exposed.”

By Olamide Akintayo, a Concerned Citizen of Ondo South

As a critical thinker and political observer with a keen interest in the development and political progress of my dear Ondo South Senatorial District, I have watched with concern the events unfolding within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

To be honest, things do not appear to be going as smoothly as they should within the party. The disagreements, fallouts and controversies surrounding the recent primaries, particularly the Senatorial primary, have created wounds that cannot simply be wished away.

In politics, popularity, acceptability and the ability to win elections should always matter. Unfortunately, there is a growing perception that these important considerations have sometimes been pushed aside in favour of personal relationships and political interests.

Politics is ultimately about people. The candidate who can connect with the people, unite different groups and deliver victory should be given serious consideration.

One cannot ignore the fact that Ilaje Local Government has produced the incumbent Executive Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, who is also the first full Executive Governor of the state from Ilaje.

Beyond that, Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency currently has other important appointments and political representations connected to Ilaje, including Hon. Otito Atikase, Ondo State representative on the NDDC Board; Ambassador Joseph Olusola Iji, Ambassador to the Russian Federation; and the leadership of OSOPADEC, currently chaired by Prince Biyi Poroye while some local Government from Ondo South has no Federal presence at all.

Against this background, many people are asking a legitimate political question: why has the APC Senatorial ticket once again gone to Ese-Odo, specifically Arogbo, where Hon. Donald Ojogo also hails from?

This is not an argument against the people of Ese-Odo or Arogbo. They are important stakeholders in Ondo South and deserve every opportunity to participate in leadership.

Rather, my concern is about balance, political strategy and the need to spread opportunities fairly across the Senatorial District.

If we continue to make political decisions based largely on personal relationships, rather than broader acceptability and electoral strength, we may eventually pay a heavy price at the polls.

    THE ISSUE OF RECONCILIATION

Another issue that should concern every genuine APC member is the level of reconciliation after the primaries.

Politics does not end immediately after a primary election. In fact, that is where the real work begins.

Those who contested and lost are not enemies. They are still members of the same political family, and many of them have supporters, structures and significant influence across Ondo South.

Among those who were associated with the APC Ondo South Senatorial contest are:

    • Mayowa Akinfolarin
    • Morayo Lebi
    • Agboola Ajayi
    • Matthew Oyerinmade (MATO)
    • Jumoke Akindele
    • Boye Oyewumi
    • Diran Iyantan
    • Kayode Fakuyi
    • and other interested aspirants.

The decision to adopt a consensus arrangement around Isaacs Kekemeke has, understandably, left different camps with concerns and grievances.

Whether one agrees with the arrangement or not, the reality is that these political wounds must be addressed before the 2027 election.

I am particularly concerned about reports and comments attributed to Hon. Matthew Oyerinmade (MATO) suggesting that he intends to contest the Senatorial election on another platform. He has reportedly said on different occasions that he will be on the ballot, although he has not publicly disclosed which party he intends to contest under.

    For now, fingers remain crossed.

But this is precisely why the APC leadership should not wait until things become irreversible before reaching out.

THE APC CANNOT AFFORD TO TAKE ONDO SOUTH FOR GRANTED

As an ardent supporter of the APC, I believe the party still has enough time to correct whatever mistakes may have been made.

The Governor, the State Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Kolawole, and the relevant leaders of the party should urgently begin genuine reconciliation with all the aspirants and stakeholders.

    The question is simple:

How many of those who purchased nomination forms have been genuinely reached out to?

How many of them have been properly engaged?

How many have been given a sense of belonging?

How many of their supporters have been brought into the reconciliation process?

Winning an election is not just about having a candidate. It is about building a united political family around that candidate.

A candidate cannot do it alone.

The APC must therefore understand that every aspirant has supporters, friends, structures and influence. If these people feel ignored or humiliated, their silence should not automatically be interpreted as loyalty.

TIME TO PUT ONDO SOUTH FIRST

The 2027 election is approaching, and the campaign season is already upon us.

This is not the time for camps, grudges and political ego. It is time for serious engagement.

The APC must look beyond individual interests and ask one fundamental question:

What is best for Ondo South and what will give the party the strongest chance of winning?

We need a Senator who will represent the entire Senatorial District, not just one local government or one political camp.

We need a party that recognises that Ilaje, Ese-Odo, Okitipupa, Irele, Odigbo and Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo are all important components of Ondo South.

No part should feel deliberately marginalised.

No aspirant should feel discarded after serving the party.

And no supporter should be made to believe that political relevance belongs exclusively to a particular group.

My position is not an attack on Governor Aiyedatiwa, the APC leadership or any individual aspirant. It is a concerned observation from someone who wants the APC to succeed and, more importantly, wants Ondo South to benefit from quality representation.

The APC still has an opportunity to put its house in order.

    Let there be genuine reconciliation.

    Let there be sincere engagement.

    Let grievances be addressed.

Let personal differences be put aside.

And let every stakeholder understand that 2027 is bigger than any individual ambition.

If the APC gets it right, Ondo South can remain a stronghold of the party.

But if the party ignores the cracks within its own house, the consequences may become difficult to manage when the real contest begins.

    Ondo South deserves better.

    The APC deserves unity.

And 2027 demands wisdom, maturity and strategic thinking.

The newly appointed Chairman of the Ondo State Sports Council, Hon. Oladimeji Abimbola, has pledged to reposition and restructure the council and restore sports in the state to its former glory.

Abimbola made the pledge on his official resumption of duty as chairman, alongside board members Baba Tunde Martins and Ibitoye Matthew Abiodun.

He said the restructuring of the council would provide a clear direction and enable the new board to identify the factors responsible for the decline in the state’s sporting fortunes over the years.

According to him, there is no time to waste, as the board would immediately commence work towards achieving its mandate.

“We have to roll up our sleeves and swing into action immediately because the council needs our quick response. Our days have started counting.”

Abimbola, while appreciating Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for appointing him to lead the council, promised to align his administration with the state government’s “Our EASE”Agenda.

He listed the welfare of athletes, coaches and other officials, rehabilitation of sports facilities, and strengthening of grassroots sports development among his priorities.

He said the council’s area offices, which serve as a link to the grassroots, would be revitalised through the deployment of competent coaches and other personnel.

He, however, appealed to all staff of the council, irrespective of their cadre, to cooperate with the new board, stressing that transforming sports in the state was a collective responsibility.

“We are going to collaborate with all the relevant stakeholders to achieve the set goal.

The task ahead is not about me and other board members, but all the sports-loving people of the state.”
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Amidu Takuro, in his goodwill message, assured the new chairman of the government’s support in transforming the Sports Council.
Takuro expressed confidence in Abimbola’s experience and ability to reposition sports in the state.

“I have no doubt in my mind that with Hon. Oladimeji Abimbola and his team, with the cooperation of the staff, our sports will be great again.”

He said Governor Aiyedatiwa’s decision to appoint a grassroots sports expert was in line with the administration’s vision of putting smiles on the faces of Ondo State residents.

Also speaking, the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of OSRC Media Group, Mr Kenneth Stevenson – Odusola, disclosed that Abimbola had recently undergone sports management training in Germany in preparation for the assignment.

Odusola-Stevenson said the state’s sports sector had experienced both successes and setbacks over the years, expressing optimism that the new chairman and his team would deploy their wealth of experience to improve its fortunes.

He urged Abimbola to remain consistent and innovative in the discharge of his duties.

The Chairman of Odigbo Local Government, Hon. Taiwo Adegoroye, also expressed optimism that Abimbola’s appointment would herald a new dawn for sports development in the state.

Similarly, the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Comrade Ademola Odudu, appealed to Sports Council staff to give the new chairman maximum support to enable him to succeed.

The Chairman of the Ondo State Football Association, Otunba Dele Ajayi, advised Abimbola to avoid acting on impulse, urging him to carefully process available information before taking decisions.

Earlier, the General Manager of the Ondo State Sports Council, Mrs Evelyn Lebi, described Abimbola’s appointment as “a round peg in a round hole”.

Lebi assured the new chairman of the cooperation and support of the council’s staff, expressing confidence that his experience and commitment would help reposition Ondo State as a leading force in sports development.

On road infrastructure, the CPS said more than 200 kilometres of roads had been completed within the period under review, while a 90-kilometre rehabilitation programme covering all 18 local government areas was ongoing.

He said the administration had also commenced the construction of the Oba Adesida Flyover in Akure to address persistent traffic congestion along one of the city’s busiest corridors.

Adeniyan listed ongoing intercity dualisation projects as Akungba–Ikare Akoko, Akure–Idanre and Okitipupa–Igbokoda, describing them as the first time three major dualisation projects had been undertaken simultaneously across the state’s three senatorial districts.

He added that the inherited Onyearugbulem–Irese flyover project in Akure had been completed and commissioned.

According to him, rural roads linking farming communities to markets have also been upgraded through the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) and state-funded interventions.

He said more than 500 youths had been trained in modern agriculture, while the Ondo State Cocoa Revolution and Management Board had been inaugurated to strengthen the state’s position as a leading cocoa-producing state.

He added that 14,000 smallholder cocoa and oil palm farmers had been profiled under the FAO GEF-7 programme across eight local government areas.

On industrialisation, the CPS said the administration was pursuing investments in the Ondo Deep Sea Port, refinery, Free Trade Zone, fertiliser and petrochemical sectors.

He said the state had signed several memoranda of understanding with investors, including agreements involving a proposed 500,000 barrels-per-day refinery, a 1,471-hectare Free Trade Zone in Ilaje and a proposed $4 billion petrochemical, fertiliser and cement project.

Adeniyan also said the return of the Dangote Group to the state was among the outcomes of the administration’s investment drive, with plans for the establishment of what he described as Nigeria’s largest industrial zone in Ondo State.

The CPS said more than 6,000 people had been recruited into various sectors, including education, healthcare, security and agriculture.

He said the government had also implemented skills acquisition programmes, including the O’Datiwa Skill-Up a Woman Initiative, through which 1,000 women were trained in tailoring, catering, ICT and other vocational skills.

He added that young people had benefited from the One Youth, One Skill Programme, while market women, artisans and small business owners had received interest-free loans and grants under the Ondo Ease Fund.

Adeniyan said the administration had prioritised regular payment of salaries, pensions and gratuities, noting that civil servants now receive their salaries on or before the 25th of every month.

He said inherited salary arrears had been cleared, including outstanding payments owed former political appointees who served under the administration of former Governor Olusegun Mimiko.

The CPS added that the government had also made progress in clearing outstanding pension gratuities, while implementing measures including improved hazard allowances for health workers, salary reviews for medical doctors, extension of tutors’ service years and the workers’ contributory health insurance scheme.

On security, Adeniyan said the government had strengthened the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun, through recruitment, improved welfare and provision of operational equipment.

He said more than 100 operational vehicles had been distributed to security agencies, while 500 personnel had been recruited into the Amotekun Corps.

According to him, a modern Command and Control Centre had also been established and equipped to improve security coordination and response.

Adeniyan said the government would continue to pursue projects and policies aimed at improving the welfare of residents and creating an environment conducive to investment and economic growth.

He said, “With several projects at various stages of completion and new ones in the pipeline, the Aiyedatiwa administration remains committed to the OUR EASE mandate: a government that works and delivers for the people of Ondo State.”

  • 18 months of “Our Ease”; How Governor Aiyedatiwa is delivering for the people of Ondo State

When His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa assumed office on February 24, 2025, he pledged a government anchored on “OUR EASE: an agenda focused on ease of living, ease of doing business, and ease of governance. 18 months on, the administration’s footprints cut across infrastructure, health, education, agriculture, security, youth and women empowerment, and public service reform. The central idea: put the people first, deliver projects that matter, and build a foundation for sustainable growth.

So far, substantial achievements have been recorded in these various sectors. These have been made possible with prudent financial management that has led Ondo State to recording an 82.6% reduction in its domestic debt profile, the highest percentage in the country, reflecting fiscal discipline and effective debt management strategies. This achievement included the clearance of all outstanding salary arrears owed to workers and former political office holders, as well as gratuities owed to pensioners.

    HEALTH
The Aiyedatiwa administration has prioritised healthcare by improving the remuneration of health workers to retain skilled personnel, expanding health insurance coverage to pensioners, pregnant women and other vulnerable groups, and upgrading infrastructure and equipment in hospitals and health centres across the state. Under this administration, more than 2,000 health professionals have been recruited, while Ondo State became the first state in the South-West to implement the enhanced CONMESS and CONHESS allowances for health workers.

Earlier this year, the State Executive Council approved a ₦1 billion Hospital Intervention Fund to expand and modernise healthcare facilities across the state. This is in addition to ongoing projects involving 100-bed capacity upgrades in hospitals at Ikare-Akoko, Ore and Okitipupa, as well as 50-bed capacity improvements in hospitals at Irele and Igbokoda.

In less than two years, more than 100 health centres have been renovated. The University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH) has been equipped with a 1.5 Tesla MRI machine, a 160-slice CT scanner, 3D digital mammography equipment, 4D ultrasound machines, digital X-ray machines and other modern facilities. The pharmaceutical-grade warehouse in Akure has also been completed to ensure a steady supply of medicines, while the Orange Health Insurance Scheme (ORANGHIS) has been expanded to cover public servants, workers in the informal sector and, for the first time, retirees and pensioners free of charge.

The latest Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey ranked Ondo State as the best-performing state in neonatal, infant and under-five mortality indicators, while also placing it among the states with the lowest maternal mortality ratio. These achievements have been recognized at the national level and this led to the award of Best Governor in Health Transformation bestowed on Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa by BusinessTimes recently in Lagos.

    ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE
The administration of Governor Aiyedatiwa remains firmly committed to developing infrastructure that connects communities, improves livelihoods and positions Ondo State for sustainable economic growth. More than 200 kilometres of roads have been completed within the last year and half, while a statewide 90-kilometre road rehabilitation programme is ongoing, with five kilometres allocated to each of the 18 Local Government Areas to ensure inclusive development.

Earlier this week, the Governor flagged off the construction of the new Akure Flyover Bridge along Oyemekun-Oba Adesida Road to end decades of gridlock on that busy road at the heart of the state capital. Major urban roads in Akure, Ondo, Owo, Ikare, and Ore have been rehabilitated and fitted with solar streetlights and drainage.

For the first time in the state, three major intercity dualisation projects are ongoing simultaneously in the three senatorial districts of the state: Akungba–Ikare Akoko in the north, Akure–Idanre in the central, and Okitipupa–Igbokoda in the south. The inherited Onyearugbulem–Irese road flyover project in Akure has been completed and commissioned, along with other road projects inherited by the administration.

Through RAAMP and state-funded projects, several rural roads linking farming communities to markets have been constructed and upgraded. This has cut transport costs and reduced post-harvest losses. Public facilities are being given facelifts with many government offices and institutional buildings being renovated. In the riverine communities, concrete jetties and walkways are also being constructed to improve transportation and ease of movement for residents. The first phase of this was commissioned by the governor last month while the second phase is ongoing.

    EDUCATION
The administration’s education policy has focused on teacher recruitment, infrastructure development, student support, technical and vocational education, and digital learning. More than 2,000 teachers have been recruited, comprising 1,010 teachers for public secondary schools and 1,100 teachers for primary schools.

The administration has revived and strengthened the free school shuttle initiative, with buses and boats conveying pupils to and from school daily. Student support programmes have also been expanded through increased and regular payment of scholarships and bursaries to students in tertiary institutions, payment of WAEC examination fees for public secondary school students to reduce the financial burden on parents, and the distribution of books, tablets and sports equipment to public primary and junior secondary schools across the 18 Local Government Areas.

Earlier this month, Mr. Governor increased the subventions to all tertiary institutions in the state by 60 percent, while also approving the salary agreement between the Federal Government and staff unions of universities. The administration cleared all inherited salary arrears owed to staff of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, and committed over ₦1 billion to the construction of the new Senate Building at the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, among several other projects.

    URBAN RENEWAL
Under Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Ondo State is witnessing a wave of visible urban renewal driven by a deliberate policy to improve ease of living across the state. There have been strategic interventions in public spaces, water supply, and urban planning. The upgrade of the Fasoranti Park, with landscaping, walkways, lighting, and supporting facilities, is restoring the park as a vibrant civic and recreational space for the capital city.

The first and second phases of the Light-Up project embarked upon by the administration took off with major roads in the State capital and major towns now illuminated at night. A total of about 5000 complete units of solar streetlights have already been installed.
The urban renewal initiative is further strengthened by the Akure Water Supply and Sanitation Project, a flagship component of the $223 million Nigeria Urban Water Sector Reform Programme, involving rehabilitation of waterworks, expansion of distribution networks, and modern sanitation systems, delivering reliable water to households, public institutions, and businesses.
After decades of neglect, the Owena Dam project is receiving renewed attention under the Aiyedatiwa administration to improve water supply across the state. For the first time in decades, new water pipelines are being laid across the state, in addition to the Omi Irorun Water Scheme which has delivered more than 50 boreholes to rural communities.

    POWER SUPPLY
Power remains a key pillar of the OUR EASE Agenda. This administration’s strategy combines regulation, alternative energy, consumer protection, and infrastructure development while laying the foundation for state-level electricity generation. Although independent power generation is still being developed, initiatives such as Light-Up, the Lucky Light Solar Programme, the O’Datiwa Mass Metering Programme, and the establishment of a regulatory commission are already providing relief to businesses and households by reducing costs and improving electricity reliability.

The State Executive Council recently approved a US$1.6 million, 350-kilowatt hydropower project and a 7.5-megawatt gas-fired turbine to power government facilities across the state. The administration has also commenced the distribution of transformers to communities to improve electricity supply.

    AGRICULTURE
Governor Aiyedatiwa’s agricultural strategy focuses on large-scale investment, food security, value-chain development and farmer support. The administration is opening up large areas of farmland, attracting private investors, ensuring EU-compliant cocoa production for international markets and constructing rural roads to facilitate the movement of farm produce. Immediate interventions, including grain distribution and OSACA programmes, are helping to address food inflation and improve farmers’ welfare.

With more than ₦10 billion committed to agricultural development, the administration continues to attract investors while over 500 young people have been trained and empowered in modern agriculture. The Governor recently inaugurated the Ondo State Cocoa Revolution and Management Board to sustain the state’s position as Nigeria’s leading cocoa producer. The State Strategic Committee on EU Deforestation-Free Regulation Compliance has also been inaugurated, while 14,000 smallholder cocoa and oil palm farmers have been profiled under the FAO GEF-7 programme across eight Local Government Areas.

    INDUSTRIALISATION
Governor Aiyedatiwa is driving the economic transformation of Ondo State. The administration continues to attract major investments towards the development of the Ondo Deep Sea Port, refinery, Free Trade Zone and fertiliser plant, while also supporting SMEs and agro-processing industries. The administration’s policy reforms are designed to make Ondo State an attractive investment destination where businesses can operate with confidence, thereby creating jobs and diversifying government revenue.

These efforts contributed significantly to the return of the Dangote Group to the state, with plans to establish Nigeria’s largest industrial zone in Ondo State. Several moribund industries are being revived through Public-Private Partnership concessions. The state has also signed several Memoranda of Understanding with investors, including a US$50 billion investment agreement involving Backbone Infrastructure Nigeria Limited and Sunshine Infrastructure JV, a 500,000 barrels-per-day refinery, a 1,471-hectare Free Trade Zone in Ilaje, and a US$4 billion petrochemical fertiliser and cement project.

    EMPLOYMENT, YOUTH & WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
The Aiyedatiwa administration’s job creation strategy has centred on direct public sector recruitment, skills development, and enabling private-sector employment under the OUR EASE Agenda. It is on record that no governor has created more direct employment opportunities for the people of the state than Governor Aiyedatiwa. In less than two years, more than 6,000 workers have been recruited into critical sectors such as education, healthcare, security and agriculture to improve service delivery and reduce unemployment.

The administration has also implemented several skills acquisition programmes, including the O’Datiwa Skill-Up a Woman Initiative, which trained and empowered 1,000 women in tailoring, catering, ICT, and other vocational skills, complete with start-up kits. Through the One Youth, One Skill Programme, hundreds of young people have also been trained in various trades, while outstanding young entrepreneurs continue to receive government support.

There have been interest-free loans and grants given to market women, artisans, and small business owners under the “Ondo Ease Fund.” Also, the governor has appointed more young people into government than any of his predecessors.

    WORKERS WELFARE
The administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has continued to prioritize the timely payment of salaries to civil servants as well as pensions and gratuities to retirees, maintaining trust and stability in the workforce. Workers now receive their salaries on or before the 25th day of every month. After clearing all inherited salary arrears of civil servants, the governor also cleared the outstanding salary arrears of former political appointees in the State. The beneficiaries are those who served under the administration of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko as governor of the State between 2009 and 2017.
The retirees are not left out of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s super deal with the Public Service. While pensioners also receive their monthly pension alongside salary payment, the government also makes deliberate monthly savings toward bulk defrayment of backlog of gratuities. Under this arrangement, this administration has successfully cleared about ten years of outstanding gratuities.
Other achievements of the Governor in this sector include the upward review and payment of hazard allowance to health workers in the State and review of salaries and entry point of Medical Doctors; implementation of tutors’ elongation of service from 35 to 40-year length of service and from 60 to 65 years of age respectively, and full implementation of the workers’ Contributory Health Insurance Scheme.

    SECURITY
The Aiyedatiwa administration has adopted a multi-dimensional approach to security by strengthening the Amotekun Corps through increased recruitment, improved welfare, enhanced operational facilities and stronger collaboration with other security agencies, while taking proactive measures against kidnapping and terrorism. More than 100 operational vehicles have been distributed to security agencies to strengthen surveillance and improve response across identified flashpoints. In addition, 500 new personnel have been recruited into the Amotekun Corps, while a modern Command and Control Centre has been established and fully equipped. Today, Ondo State remains one of the most peaceful states in the country.

    CONCLUSSION
With several projects at various stages of completion and new ones in the pipeline, the Aiyedatiwa administration remains committed to the OUR EASE mandate: a government that works and delivers for the people of Ondo State.
