In a spectacular blend of tradition and modernity, renowned filmmaker and broadcaster Ibukunoluwa Olawale Obateru, Founder and CEO of Ibussco World of Entertainment and producer of the hit film OBO (MONKEY), tied the knot with Temitope Rejoice Akinnuoye on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Obateru, a respected member of TAMPAN and a beloved sports presenter on Awawa 94.1 FM and Ejulenen 93.7 FM, welcomed family, friends, and dignitaries to a wedding that beautifully honored both culture and faith.
The wedding festivities commenced with a traditional engagement ceremony in Ode-Aye, where the groom’s family proudly upheld cultural values by covering all customary expenses, including the bride price procession. This act underscored deep family honor and respect for Yoruba tradition.

Following the vibrant engagement, a reception at the Methodist Church Nigeria, Ode-Aye Circuit Hall brought together an esteemed gathering of personalities from various sectors. Guests included representatives from the Association of Private Schools Owners of Nigeria (APSON) Okitipupa Chapter, Mrs. Temitope Agbede, Bishop Imisioluwa Ogeleyinbo, Lady Evangelist Omotola Kayode, members of the Ayo Ademusire Foundation, the global congregation of Holy Cross Church of Cherubim and Seraphim, Rev. Ap. Ogunbe (JP), representatives from TAMPAN, the renowned comic comedian M.C. Shebalese, the Cherubim Band, and Primate Ogeleyinbo, among others.
A defining moment of the event was the powerful sermon by Rev. Ap. Ogunbe, Founder and Spiritual Head of City of God Ministry and General Leader of the Holy Cross Church of Cherubim and Seraphim. In his message titled “Appreciation and Submission: The Pillars of a Blissful Marriage,” he emphasized the importance of humility, gratitude, and mutual respect in building a lasting union.

Referencing scriptures from Ephesians and Proverbs, Rev. Ogunbe encouraged the couple to cultivate their home with wisdom, patience, and love. He advised the bride to express appreciation for her husband’s efforts and approach conflicts with humility, while urging the groom to cherish and honor his wife wholeheartedly. He concluded that a marriage centered on love and gratitude fosters lasting joy and divine blessings.

The reception was filled with lively entertainment, featuring a captivating performance by Gbenga Johnson (Just Like That) and dynamic hosting by Mike Kuwoye (Oroloba Presenter). Their contributions ensured a lively atmosphere, making the occasion one to remember.
