In continuation of efforts to enhance governance and service delivery to the people of the State, the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of the following as Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs):
I write to you today as both your Chairman and a fellow member of the youth community in our local government. I understand your concerns and frustrations regarding the challenges we are facing in our economy. It is evident that times are tough, and the desire to protest and bring attention to these issues is completely valid.
However, I urge you to consider the consequences of resorting to protest as the only means of expressing our grievances. History has shown us that peaceful protests can quickly turn into opportunities for those with malicious intent to sow chaos and destruction in our communities. We cannot afford to let this happen again, especially considering the setbacks we experienced in the aftermath of the End SARS protests.
I implore you to channel your energy and passion into more constructive avenues. Let us opt for dialogue and engagement with the government as a means to add.
Hon. Gbenga Fasua Chairman Akure South LGA Transition Committee.

In a bid to ensure transparency and accountability in the representation of Ondo East and West Federal Constituency, Ekimogun Roundtable has taken the proactive step of writing to the Speaker and Clerk of the National Assembly.
The group in the letter signed by its acting secretary Christiana Ayodele is seeking detailed information on the plenary attendance record of Hon Abiola Makinde, the member representing their constituency in the 10th Assembly.
The group is reacting to an intel that Hon Abiola Makinde abdicates his legislative duties and traveled out of the country for several weeks thereby rendering the entire constituency without representation.
As concerned citizens and stakeholders in the legislative process, Ekimogun Roundtable says it is invoking relevant provisions of the constitution, the Freedom of Information Act, and the standing order three of the house of representatives to request this vital information.
The group is also urging the National Assembly to make available Hon Abiola Makinde’s travel information in order to ensure proper oversight and representation of the constituency in line with relevant standing order of the House.
It is imperative that lawmakers uphold their responsibilities and obligations to their constituents, and Ekimogun Roundtable is committed to ensuring that Hon Abiola Makinde and other public officials remain accountable and transparent in their duties as representatives of the people.
Ekimogun Roundtable however threatens legal action against the National Assemnbly should its request is not acceded to by the National Assembly inline with extant regulations.
An affront towards internal security settings, calls for investigation of Ondo Youth Progressives Forum. Citizens Security Council Demands
The Ilaje Leadership Forum (Citizen’s Security Council) of Ondo State has called for the investigation into the Ondo Youth Progressives Forum, where a described affront statement was made to demand for Ondo State commissioner of Police Removal.
In a statement signed by the State Chairman of the Ilaje Leadership Forum (Citizens Security Council), Pastor Rawa Felix, made available on Wednesday by the Publicity Secretary of the forum, Prince Emorioloye Owolemi, uncovered an alleged plot aimed at destabilizing the Ondo State Security settings by some unknown sponsors in the Ose, Owo, and Akoko Area of Ondo State known for profiled criminals den in ondo state.
Recalled that since the posting of the new CP to Ondo State, he has not relented his efforts to curb criminal elements in Ondo State. The CP answers distress calls and mobilizes his men immediately whenever occasion demands, and the state is enjoying a relative peace.
While discharging his duty across the 18 local governments of Ondo State, he would have obviously stepped on the toes of some profiled criminals in the Owo, Ose, and Akoko Area hence calling for his removal to further expose the state to security threats.
The statement in part “When the former CP Oyeyemi was in Ondo State command, he acts like the current CP, to the extent of leading a team to combat criminals by himself, the same Owo, Ose, and the Akokos profiled suspects who were calling for his neck, until he was promoted to AIG and transfered out of the state, some months later when he was not in the state anymore, criminals in the Owo, Ose, and akokos started and strategized their heinous crimes, kidnapped traditional rulers while returning from security meetings to Akure and killed them.
The incident which endangered the lives and properties of the state citizens is what they have been preparing further in the Owo, Ose and akokos hence calling for the CP removal.
Amotekun like any citizens of the state is liable to arrest by the police if committed an offense. Individuals are meant in accordance of the constitution of Nigeria, to report any criminal offense to the police for further investigation or prosecution, once a complainant makes a report, it is the right of the police to investigate by inviting both parties, Amotekun, any citizen, or any other security agencies is not an exceptional for arrest which anyone could make as an excuse to tormenting the state.
We are happy with the CP in Ondo State since his posting to Ondo command. He demonstrates completely what police meant to do.
The CP in about two weeks ago, led all other security agencies in Ondo State for a joint security meeting in Igbokoda. He has been a bridge between all other security agencies in Ondo State. When the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa purchased security vehicles to security agencies, as a head of security agency in the state, the CP went around Owo, Ose, Akokos, and other local governments for its delivery to sister security agencies. So, it is not clear when a group could make an allegation of not cooperating with other security agencies in order for them to beautify their sponsors.
We have carried out our findings to trace reasons for calling his neck, the statement made by the Ondo Youth forum is not in accordance of the security structure of Ondo State, we have resolved that the statement should be investigated to unravel the circumstances behind calling for CP removal instead of calling for criminals arrest since they knew them.
Ondo State is never a state where individuals can just wake up to make his own law and operate with it, the structure of all the security agencies operations in Ondo State is in accordance with the constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria, it is never in the interest of the state where anyone will threaten to remove a commissioner of police in the state and have it done.
Prince Emorioloye Owolemi Publicity Secretary Ilaje Leadership Forum (Citizens Security Council) 24/07/2024
As part of efforts to boost agricultural production, Sen. Adeniyi Adegbonmire SAN, Senator Representing Ondo Central Senatorial District and Chairman Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, has commenced the distribution of fertilizers facilitated by him through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to farmers in Ondo Central Senatorial District.

The 50kg bags of fertilizer contain NPK 20:10 :10 and are to be given to farmers to enhance their production for the 2024 farming season and to support domestic agricultural production.
Adegbonmire who was represented at the distribution center by his SLA, Akinloye Bolarinde said the gesture is to help farmers boost food production and thereby address rising food cost.
” These fertilizers are being given to farmers across Ondo Central Senatorial District free of charge. This is to support domestic agricultural production of our farmers, thereby addressing rising food costs” he said
He urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of it and avoid sharp practices that could jeopardize the objectives of the programme.
The Ekimogun Roundtable has given Tuesday 23rd of July as an ultimatum for the member representing Ondo East and West Federal Constituency, Hon Abiola Makinde to return to performing the legislative duties for which he was elected or face legal action.
In a statement by the acting secretary of the group, Christiana Ayodele, she said “It is with great disappointment that we have not seen Hon Abiola Makinde fulfill his duties as our elected representative for too long and we have waited patiently enough for him to return to performing his legislative responsibilities. It is now time for action to be taken.
Should Hon Makinde fail to resume at the expiration of our ultimatum, we shall write the Speaker of the house of representatives, Hon Tajudeem Abass, requesting special privilege for our group to observe Plenary session. This is crucial for us to be able to witness the proceedings firsthand and ensure that our concerns are being addressed.
As people of Ondo Weet/East federal constituency, we have lost track of happenings at the National Assembly and mandatory legislative engagement necessary in a representative democracy due to poor representation occasioned by Hon Makinde’s continued absence.
We urge Hon Abiola Makinde to heed our ultimatum and return to representing the interests of the Ondo East and West Federal Constituency. Our voices must be heard, and our needs must be met, failure to do so will result in legal action being taken against him.
Ekimogun Roundtable, a group dedicated to ensuring accountability and responsibility among elected representatives in Ondo Kingdom is deeply concerned about the recent relocation of Hon Abiola Makinde, Member representing Ondo West and East federal constituency, to the United States, which has led to his absence from his legislative duties.
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has affirmed his commitment to implementing the approved N70,000 minimum wage for civil servants.
Speaking through Kolapo Alimi, his Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Gov. Adeleke emphasized that the welfare of workers is a top priority for his administration.
He said: “Our governor is a lover of workers; his first agenda is to prioritize the welfare of both active and non-active workers. Governor Ademola Adeleke will not be among the defaulters of the new minimum wage. Osun State will never deviate from the law on minimum wage. Governor Ademola Adeleke will adhere to it.”
In a concerning development for the constituents of Ondo East/West Federal Constituency, it has come to light that their representative, Hon. Abiola Makinde, has relocated to the United States. This move raises significant questions about the ongoing representation and engagement of the constituency in the affairs of the National Assembly.
During a recent visit to Hon. Makinde’s constituency office, representatives from Ondo West/East were met with a locked door at room 3.36 of the National Assembly, with no aides or staff present to address their concerns. This absence is symptomatic of a deeper issue; since the inauguration of the 10th Assembly, constituents have expressed a growing sense of disenfranchisement.
Recent reports suggest that numerous bills, including crucial legislation such as the Cybersecurity Act and the National Anthem Act, have been passed into law without any input or awareness from the constituency’s representative.
One concerned constituent voiced frustration over the lack of communication and representation, stating, “As we speak, we don’t know what the National Anthem Act, or any other Acts of the 10th parliament looks like as citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria due to the relocation of Hon. Makinde.” This sentiment reflects a broader disenchantment among the constituents regarding their lack of access to vital legislative updates and community engagement.
In light of these developments, constituents are calling on the Speaker of the National Assembly to investigate Hon. Makinde’s plenary attendance and travel history since the inception of the 10th National Assembly. Many are questioning whether he is still actively fulfilling his duties as a member of the Assembly, given his reported relocation.
As the situation unfolds, the loss of effective representation threatens not only the interests of Ondo East/West Federal Constituency but also calls into question the accountability standards for elected officials in Nigeria’s democratic framework.
Constituents demand clarity and decisive action to ensure their voices are heard and their interests are represented within the National Assembly.
