    Ondo State Commissioner for Agric and Chairman Micmakin Nigeria Limited, the producer of (Oyato Bread), Hon. Olayato Aribo has promised his continued support for Sunshine Queens Football Club of Akure.

    Aribo stated this during a thank-you visit of the officials and players of Sunshine Queens at his Alagbaka office in Akure after their midweek victory over Ekiti Queens for his support, encouragement and motivation for the team.

    The Chairman of Micmakin Nigeria Limited had kitted Sunshine Queens with two pairs of quality jerseys produced by one of the best sports wears companies in Nigeria at the beginning of the 2023/24 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).

    Aribo while praying for more winning for the team, promised to watch any of their next match.

    He said: “I will not take your visit for granted, I will discuss with Hon.Tayo Abidakun and see how we can organize a reception for you”.

    The facilitator , Hon.Tayo Abidakun thanked the donor for his kind gesture, saying the team had promised to visit after their victory over their Ekiti visitors.

    According to him, “we thank God for today’s victory, we have agreed that after today’s match, that we will come here to thank you for your support and that is what we are doing .

    “I will crave your indulgence to find a time out of your tight schedule to sit and have a little talk with the ladies.”

    Commending the Chairman of Micmakin Nigeria Limited, the Team Manager of Sunshine Queens FC, Kenny Smith odogun said we are always happy and feel motivated whenever we put on the jersey.

    “We sincerely thank and appreciate your kind gesture and may God continue to bless you abundantly.

    “We therefore appeal to other private organizations within and outside the state to take a cue from what Oyato is doing, Government can’t do it alone,”he said.

    Omo’ba Jimi Odimayo has responded to the recent claim by the Aiyedatiwa campaign team that his supporters pledged their political allegiance to the gubernatorial aspirations of Governor Aiyedatiwa. Odimayo dismissed the claim as insignificant and laughable, stating that his widespread support within Irele local government and beyond remains strong and unshaken.

  • Defeat Ekiti Queens, Commissioner charges Sunshine Queens

    Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye has charged Sunshine Queens to play with their heart and defeat Ekiti Queens in match day 13 of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).

    The Commissioner stated this while addressing the officials and players of the team at their Oda camp, in Akure on Tuesday.

    Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye said the match against Ekiti Queens is a must-win for the team, saying he will not accept any result short of victory.

    He said: “This is my first official assignment as a second time Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Sports is my familiar terrain, I’m not a newcomer in this sector, I was here, and I’m here again to effect positive change in all sports and not football alone, so I urge you to play with all your strength, be skillful, be aggressive against your opponent in the match and make sure you come out victorious.

    “I will be on ground with other stakeholders to cheer you to victory, no doubt you are not in a good position on the log, but all hands must be on deck to lift the team out of the precarious situation.”

    He promised a cash prize for any goal scored, a clean sheet from the goalkeeper and a cash prize for the entire team.

    “We are going to motivate you to become the best you are, we are going to support you, you are a great players and you are all champions,” he said.

    While responding, the Team Manager of the club, Kenny Odogun thanked the commissioner for making the team his first point of call as he resumed work.

  • ASHYSAM FC THRASH KEMLEE FC 3GOALS TO ONE

    In continuation of Irele Local Government Global Competition, Ashysam FC, Igodan on Monday 15th April, 2024 thrashed Kemlee FC, Irele 3 goals to one at City Model College, Ode Irele Football Pitch.

    It took Ashysam FC 10mins to break the deadlock via a superb finish by Adam following a defense error of Kemlee FC.

    The midfielders of Ashysam FC suppressed Kemlee FC dominating and keeping them to their half, as the strickers mount more pressure on the defense line of their opponent.

    4mins into the second half of the match, Asonja Femi doubled it for Ashysam FC while Yemi extended the lead to 3goals to nil in the 74th minutes.

    Kemlee FC was able to reduce the goals deficit with Deji scoring his team consolation goal in the 88th minutes of play.

    Matthia lost the opportunity to extend Ashysam FC goals in the 89th minutes firing wide on an empty net.

    Reacting after the match, Head Coach of Ashysam FC, Mr Henry Hamma appreciate the organizers for giving a standard match with perfect officiating and football atmosphere.

    In his words, he said, “I want to appreciate the organizers for the wonderful works done, the officiating is good, the pitch is perfect with adequate facilities for football at the grassroot. I love this tournament.”

    On his team performance, he said “The team has improved on necessary areas after the barren draw played against Gbenvico FC a couple of days ago. The players are more committed and fit for today’s game. We will continue to improve till we attain the greatest height.”

    “We are taking this as preparations for the Ondo State Bet9ja Super 8 League expected to hold in Akure a couple of weeks to come. The players and coaching crew are stepping up our games daily so that we don’t let down the teaming sport lovers in Ondo State, especially Ondo South Senatorial district.”, he concluded.

    Ashysam FC is one of the two teams to represent the Southern senatorial district of Ondo State at the Ondo State Bet9ja Super 8 League holding in Akure, the state capitol in a couple of weeks to come.
