Nigeria is a state bless with Mineral resources ranging from oil and other solid minerals etc. It is made up of 36 states.

Every state in Nigeria are suppose to be profitable depending on their accessible characteristics assets. But due to bad Government, mismanagement of state resources and security issues the following states are said to be the poorest state in Nigeria.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, using the state of the economy, infrastructural development, governance and security of the states to compile the list of the poorest states in the country.

10. Zamfara state

This state residents suffers from disease, hunger and strife which has put the state poverty rate at 70.8%

9. Kebbi state

Kebbi state poverty rates stands at 72% according to the statistics released.

8. Bauchi state

It currently occupies the 8th position with a poverty rate of 71%

7. Ebonyi state

Due to bad governance and illiteracy, It is the only south east state that falls into this category with a 70.6% poverty rate.
