One Killed In Ondo cult clash

A young man, Identified as Clark, has been reportedly killed by suspected cultists in Okitipupa, the headquarters of Okitipupa local government of Ondo state.


The clash which happened in the late hour on Wednesday within Okitipupa township, according to an eyewitness account was described as a clash between two rivalry cult groups.


It was gathered that about four different fraternities are ruling in the area named; Alora, Alve, Aiye, and Eiye.


According to a source, “No one knows the cause of the clash. We only saw them running after one another, and later we saw the deceased, named Clark in a pool of his own blood.


“A source close to the victim, who identified the deceased as a member of Eiye fraternity, said the deceased had earlier posted on his Whatsapp status, “*So many agenda, so many plans, make death no spoil the plan,” but unfortunately, he is dead now.


“I am using this medium to call on security agencies to come into the matter before they start reciprocating the killing.”
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident.


She said the corpse has been deposited in the morgue in Okitipupa.


Odunlami said investigation had commenced, promising that the fleeing members would be brought to book as the Anti-cultism squad are fully informed.
She, therefore, called on parents, to train and monitor their children activities.
