Resolves Aspirants Tussle in Irele State Assembly Constituency

The Executive Chairman, Irele Local Government, Mr Olusegun Ajimotokin has
resolved aspirants Tussle in Irele State Assembly Constituency.

Ajimotokin who steered the team of some selected leaders in Irele Local Government to resolve lingering issues in the Irele State Constituency ahead of today’s House of Assembly primary elections also called for Interest Harmonisation.

According to the statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Mr Victor Adedeji; since the adoption of Dr Christopher Ogunlana as the consensus candidate for House of Assembly in Irele State Constituency, different agitations have emerged most especially when Mr Segun Omoyofunmi IBB obtained the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the same position challenging the process that brought about the so-called consensus candidate.

Recall, the Chairman yesterday met with party leaders in Irele Local Government at the council secretariat to appeal to party faithful to embrace the party’s decision ahead of today’s primary.

Earlier today, Ajimotokin with his reconciliation team met with Mr Segun Omoyofunmi, his key supporters and the key supporters of Dr Ogunlana in the quest of resolving the issue to ensure tranquillity in Irele Local Government, especially at today’s primary.

After rigorous deliberations and appeals by the party leaders, Mr Segun Omoyofunmi consented to withdraw from the race to allow the party’s decision to stand and as well ensuring peaceful coexistence for a hitch-free primary.

The council boss thanked Omoyofunmi for taking the bold and sacrificial step for the growth of the party.

He assured him of reporting the committee’s decision to the governor for the development of Irele Local Government and the people.

Ajimotokin stated further that after the primary, he would meet all the supporters of Mr Omoyofunmi for further engagement.

The Member of the Ondo State Pool and Lottery Agency, Mr Sayo Ogunmade on behalf of the peace and reconciliation committee thanked Omoyofunmi for his sacrifice and most importantly for allowing the decision of the party to stand.
