Ayeka Community gets new monarch

Ayeka community in Okitipupa Local Government area of Ondo State has elected Prince Babatunde Michael Ayeyowa as the Lisa of the Kingdom.

The Governor, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, had on Friday, May 24th, during a courtesy visit to the Governor led by the Jagunmolu of Ikale land, Prince DR General Joseph OLUYEMI BAJOWA and the Regent of Ayeka kingdom, Princess Barrister Oluyemi Bajowa, suggested that the community should write to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to expedite the process.

Prince Babatunde Ayeyowa was elected during the process of selecting a new king for the town, which took place at the Okitipupa Local Government secretariat under the guidance of the State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

The Local Government officials, on behalf of the State government, conducted the process and declared Prince Babatunde Michael Ayeyowa as the winner and the king-elect of Ayeka kingdom.

The community leaders, including the Afobajes of the community, high chiefs and chiefs of Ayeka kingdom, and lawyers, were present at the venue of the event. Also, some residents, officials of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Okitipupa Local Government officials, and security agencies were there to witness the process.
