  • Free Ondo State From Stagnation, Hand Over To Your Deputy, Atunluse Admonishes Akeredolu

    by

A Sociocultural/political organization, Atunluse Initiatives has admonished Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to free the state from stagnation by handing over to his Deputy, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa in line with the provisions of the Nigerian Constitution, to enable him (Akeredolu) concentrate on his medical treatment and quick recovery.

It’s unfortunate that those hiding the Governor from the masses are not doing such because they love him, it is very obvious that they are keeping him away from us and equally blocking the handing over to an acting governor for pecuniary gains. It’s all in the interest of their pockets and a means to callously milk the state dry.

Atunluse in a statement signed by it’s Secretary on behalf of the Chairman, Otunba Akinsola Akinbobola said the organization will not continue to play the ostrich by joining others in pretending all is well with the state. The state and it’s citizens are seriously suffering. The absence of Akeredolu or an acting governor is being felt by the people.

The statement added that Ondo State is presently in a state of confusion, nobody is giving orders on state of affairs, aside payment of workers salaries nothing concrete is happening in various sectors of governance in the state.

The organization refered to the recent boundary dispute between Ondo State and Ogun State as a testimony that Ondo State is running on autopilot, whereby no constituted authority could make a categorical statement on the development, other than just a press statement from one commissioner to another, enough is enough. The absence of Ondo state at National meetings where other state governors or deputy governors are present is an insult to our sensibilities.

Governor Akeredolu returned to Nigeria two months ago after a medical vacation and had since stayed in his residence in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, ‘we the people of the state have not set our eyes on him. “All we hear is “he said, he said, the governor said”. How long are we going to continue like this, whereby nobody is standing-in for the interest of the state at the national level, Ondo State is bigger than any individual or cabal, these elements should allow the masses to breath jaré!”.

“It’s high time the Governor or his Deputy come out to address the masses that entrusted them with our mandate.”

“There is a vacuum in Ondo State government, and this must stop, the deputy governor has been distracted by impeachment treats, which has led him to embark on save my soul missions, junketing from Ondo to Lagos to Abuja and others in an attempt to save his seat. No one is on ground both Governor and Deputy.

“On this note, we call on the Governor to hand over to the number three man in command, which is the Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly to step in and act as governor, we can’t continue to be governed by proxy.

“While, we continue to pray for the quick recovery of the Governor, we urged him to do the needful by freeing the state from stagnation.”

    Signed :

    Comrade Sulaiman Otache,
    for the chairman, Atunluse Initiatives

  • Mimiko dissociates Self from, Brother’s Guber Ambition

    by

    Charges Supporters to be Committed

The former Governor of Ondo state Dr Olusegun Rahman Mimiko has urged his supporters to be committed to the political task ahead in the state, as
political parties are jostling for the 2024 gubernatorial election.

He stated this in a meeting held in his home town,Ondo city.

He said:” The meeting was very necessary in order for the man of the people to be above board in the presence of thousands of his supporters who are yet to come to terms with the ungodly speculation.

The supporters were blunt to be straightforward particularly to know the stand of the former Governor on the aspiration of his younger brother Dr Abbas Olubansile Mimiko who was rumoured to have been aspiring to become the next governor in the state.

The medical Doctor, turned politician disclosed that the desire of his younger brother who is an adult and also possessed all needed qualities to lead state and even the country at large may appear to be surplus to the Government House in Ondo state as at now.

It is also an undeniable fact that Dr Abbas Mimiko and for any office of his choice even if he desired to run for the office of the United States of America being a well trained American medical Psychiatrist and a specialist in the area of agronomy, the gentle man deserves to get it.

He stressed further that Dr Abbas carries all charisma to lead any nation of choice if people so desire to vote for him.

According to the former Governor, I have personally spoke with my brother why it is not the right time or the turn of the Central Senatorial District to produce the next Governor.

Even if it is the turn of the central it should not be the turn of Ondo West
And peradventure, the family of Mimiko should not be in the position to produce the next Governor in the spirit of fairness and equity

In addition, he narrated how he (Dr Olusegun Mimiko) had been receiving calls from far and near, associates and colleagues, on the matter which really prompted the outcry and public disapproval by the most adjudged best Governor ever produced in Ondo state.

“For the record purpose, Dr Abbas Olubansile Mimiko is an adult who knows what is the best for him, but as Dr Olusegun Rahman Mimiko I am not on the same page with this political permutation in the present political atmosphere”

Recall, Dr Olusegun Mimiko reiterated his commitment to the People’s Democratic Party and his intention to deploy all arsenals of political savvy to ensure the state is rescued from the present dungeon
He’s optimistic that the present reconciliation process from the national level to the local will yield the needed result.

Our reporters gathered that H.E Engr Seyi Makinde the Oyo state Governor who was conferred with “The Jagunmolu of Ondo kingdom by Oba Victor Ademefun Kiladejo the Jilo III, The Osemawe of Ondo kingdom and his Osun state counterpart Sen Ademola Adeleke were in the country home of the former Governor Dr Olusegun Rahman Mimiko days ago on courtesy visit.
