The lawmaker representing Ile-oluji/Oke-Igbo & Odigbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Mayowa Akinfolarin has reinforced Nigeria Police Force Area Command Ore with a Siena Bus.
Hon Amidu Takuro and Ifesowapo Elders forum on Thursday, 3rd of June 2021 handed over the vehicle to the command in Ore, Odigbo LG.
The operational vehicle is parts of the people’s representative effort to support Nigerian police to help them in the fight against, crime, banditry, armed robbery and kidnapping.
Recalled that Some months ago, the Ifesowapo elders forum met with Rt. Hon Akinfolarin and requested for 3 ( three) projects from him, which are, i) patrol Vehicle for the police to aid their work ii)completion of Sabo – Show boy road and iii)completion of Ore Civic Center. Within the space of three(3) months from the time the request was made the people’s representative who is also the Chairman House committee on FRSC has successfully done two (2) projects out of the (3) three projects requested.
Today the official handing over of the Siena bus to the Ore Police Area Command was observed while works are ongoing in Sabo – Showboy road at the pace of lightning.
While reiterating his commitment to the security of lives and property in the state, the Lawmaker said, “I will continue to provide the needed support to security agencies working in Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo & Odigbo Federal Constituency and prioritise the safety and security of my people.”
The Ore Police Area Commander, ACP Ajamolaya commended Rt. Hon. Mayowa Akinfolarin on his efforts towards ensuring that the command’s efforts to tackle insecurity menace in the state is been supported by this kind gesture.
Ondo State Deputy Governor, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa has called for better working relations between Local Government Chairmen and their Councillors to ensure good governance in our various local government areas in Nigeria.
Aiyedatiwa made this statement on Tuesday while receiving Ondo State Legislative Council of Leaders’ Forum led by the National President, Forum of Councilors in Nigeria, Hon Alimi Nurudeen Alowonle during a courtesy visit to him in his office in Akure.
He said there was no way our Local Government Councils could be vibrant without a good working relationship between Councillors and their Chairmen that would lead to the good running of local government administration in the Country.
He, therefore, urged the Councillors to ensure synergy between them and their Chairmen to engender good governance.
The Deputy Governor also disclosed that training for Political Office holders in the various local government in Ondo State is on the way.
His words, “you need training for more capacity building that will assist you develop the needed skills for the overall interest of parliamentary representative democracy in your various local government”.
He also assured them that, issue of their welfares would be addressed as revenue improves.
“This is necessary to motivate you towards effective and efficient representation of your people” , he said.
While responding on behalf of the Forum, Hon Alimi Alowonle promised that they would continue to do their best in the interest of proper legislation for good governance in their various Local Governments.

The Ondo state government on Monday said breakdown of vehicles being used to convey students was the reason behind its decision to suspend the free shuttle buses enjoyed by secondary school students in the state.
The Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Princess Oladunni Odu disclosed this while addressing newsmen to reel out progrsmmes earmarked for the 100 days in office of governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Akeredolu’s predecessor, Olusegun Mimiko initiated the free shuttle buses for students and was sustained in the first term of Akeredolu.
It was however stopped since last year ,a development that had generated reactions among stakeholders, students and parents in the state.
Odu said the buses ,having been used for many years , have been developing faults while many of them had broken down.
Odu said “ We all know that the buses were working very well but sometimes, like every machine, they break down and we are looking into it and trying to fix it.
It is not as if the buses were abandoned. We are looking into it with the aim of fixing it and make them work again.
Odu however highlighted that governor Akeredolu would inaugurate many projects across the state to mark his One Hundred days in office.
She noted that though few of the projects were carried over to Akeredolu’s second term in office, many others were the ones executed in the last 100 days.
The SSG said during the anniversary, many widows will Institute care of as well as students in the state.

Renowned Activist, Owner of Sahara reporters and Convener of #Revolution now movement, Omoyele Sowore, has reportedly been shot by a security operative in Abuja
According to one of the Protesters, Adeyanju Adedeji, whom they described as a comrade, explained that Sowore was shot during a live video in Abuja.
It was also revealed that he has been rushed to an unknown hospital in the FCT
Member representing Ilaje/Ese-odo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr. Kolade Victor Akinjo has charged parents to focus more on their children’s talents.
The Honourable member gave the charge on Saturday at the event of the launching of a musical album titled: “Talitha cumi” by one Miss Oluwatomilola Erejuwa at Aseph Event Centre along Igbokoda expressway, Igbodigo in Okitipupa local government.
Akinjo who was represented by one of his Special Assistants, Ayodeji Rufus Omosowone described children as special gifts with different talents from God and should be nurtured in a manner that they would contribute positively to the development of our society.
While delivering his speech as the Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Akinjo likened the children’s talent to an investment that must not be wasted but properly nurtured by their parents and guardians at a very early age.
The Honourable member used the occasion to assure his constituents on his continued determination to key into positive programmes that would have direct impact on the lives of the people.
He therefore advocated for parents to pay more attention to their children, encourage their expressions, praise their efforts and set them free where necessary in order to nurture their talents for the development of their nation.

The Ogeloyinbo of Aiyetoro Community in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Micah Olaseni Ajijo, has appreciated Ondo state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, for his prompt intervention with the provisions of relief materials to victims of the Ayetoro sea incursion.
Meanwhile, Akeredolu, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Thursday, made formal handing over of relief materials to victims of the Ayetoro ocean surge in Igbokoda, the local government headquarters, said the world bank had been involved to fund construction works in Aiyetoro community which will be carried out by the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project NEWMAP.
While speaking with our correspondent, The Monarch appreciated the government said, at last government palliatives finally reach our people whose livelihoods have been affected by the sea surge.

Therefore, the Monarch appealed to Governor Akeredolu, SAN to continue with a good job and still make this on his front burner.
The Ogeloyinbo of Aiyetoro added that he had planned to set up high profile Ilaje sons and daughters Advocacy Group to help mobilize and sustain the momentum for the realization of the Aiyetoro Shoreline Protection Project.
The Vice-Chancellor of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH) Okitipupa, Professor Sunday Ogunduyile has charged political leaders in the country to always complete abandoned projects by previous administrations before embarking on new projects If truly want to serve the populace better.
Ogunduyile gave this charge at the first legislative summit titled: The Inclusion of Youths In Governance and Leadership, organized by the Students Union Government of a chapter of the Institution.
He said, for any instruction to advance technologically and other views and attain its desired development, succeeding government should ensure all semi-complete projects must be executed before embarking on another in order not to render efforts and limited available resources a waste.
Speaking on the development, the Vice-Chancellor, noted that the said institution after the Agagu led administration witnessed militating by the succeeding government of Dr Olusegun Mimiko before Governor Akeredolu sworn-in in 2017.
The Don said it is a great privilege for Ondo Southerners for having a reputable citadel of learning, urging political frontiers in the country to desist from being egocentric, adding that if youths are included in the governance list, there would not be ill-fate in the country.
The guest speaker of the summit, and Chief Whip in Ondo House of Assembly, Mr Taofik Oladele, called on the Nigerian Government and the Youths to reach a compromise by making concerned relevant in Nigeria politic especially at the legislative arm and in the decision-making process so that the country can have a drastic and positive change, urging youths to wake up from their slumber to safe the country.
The Senate President, OAUSTECH Students Union Government, Comrade Ganiyu Idris opined that it was believed that on the road towards the betterment of Nigeria’s commonwealth, the youths must take the bull by the horn and be actively involved in Leadership and governance matters arising.
The event was witnessed by Associate Professors, traditional rulers, political associates members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and members of the public.
Students of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, OAUSTECH, Okitipupa have called on well-meaning people in the neighborhood to come to their rescue over incessant robbery and rape of students on campus and hostels.
The students staged a peaceful protest over incessant robbery, molestation of their female students by hoodlums, threatening students with charms at night.
According to the President of the Students Union Government of the school, Damilola Okunomo, while speaking with our correspondent, condemned the rate at which armed hoodlums invade the institution at night, and rape the females.
Okunomo, called Obas, Council boss, parents, and all meaningful people in the community to come to their aid.
“We cannot continue living in panic on campus. We are here to learn and to be educated which can only be achieved in a conducive environment”.
“These people came to our hostels, attacked us with guns, cutlasses, whether we are in academic session or not, they carted away, our shoes, clothes, phones, televisions among other belongings.
“Our lives are at stake because they come with arms and rape”, Okunomo said. He, however, advised his colleagues to be security conscious on campus, stop showing off especially those with iPhones, “keep your belongings to yourselves to avoid being trailed by those miscreants. Not everyone is happy with whatsoever you have.”
While addressing the protesters, one of the elders in the community who does not want his name mentioned, commended the students for making the protest a peaceful one. “You have taken the right step by this protest, meanwhile, effort has been put in place to get all these bad eggs off the community.
“Sometimes ago, I categorically arrested some set of gangs who invaded your hostel when the institution was on break and handed them over to the police with the recovering items. I was the person who called the students to go for their missing item at the police station, and since then, we elders have not relented our effort. “We are meeting with the school management and security agencies where we will discuss vehemently the security issues,” he said.
Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on Saturday, May 29, 2021, attended the 10th Remembrance of the late High Chief Stephen Kolawole Adeyeye who passed on in 2011.
Late Adeyeye, popularly known as SOKA, was the Adaja of Ondo Kingdom. He was the father of the former Special Adviser to Governor Akeredolu on Health, Dr Jibayo Adeyeye.
At the 10th-year-in-memory service held at the Cathedral Church of St. Stephen, Oke-Aluko, Ondo, Governor Akeredolu said late Adeyeye lives on in Ondo Kingdom even after a decade since he departed.
Arakunrin Akeredolu added that the late High Chief made a remarkable impact in Ondo Kingdom, saying no wonder he was the youngest High Chief in the history of the Kingdom.
He said: “We have come to honor the children of the late Baba. You have really celebrated your father. From the sermon, it was clear that Baba left a very good legacy and that was the training he gave all of you.
“Today, Baba’s name speaks for you. Everyone speaks about SOKA in Ondo. It has become a brand and the children has kept that brand alive.”
Governor Akeredolu recalled that the late Adeyeye recorded great exploits in Lagos State where he served as the majority leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and later became Special Assistant and Commissioner in Ondo State at various times.
While thanking the people of Ondo for their overwhelming support for him during the last election, Arakunrin Akeredolu assured that with improved economy, he will continue to promote the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED).
Governor Akeredolu was accompanied to the event by the Deputy Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa; the Head of Service, Pastor John Adeyemo,mni; and the Commissioner for Information, Mr Donald Ojogo.
Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has said the only solution to the gridlock in Apapa, Lagos State, is to have a deep sea port in Ondo.
He said the proposed Port Ondo, if established, would accommodate and reduce the unending traffic in Apapa and promote economy activities in the Sunshine State.
Governor Akeredolu spoke in his office on Thursday while receiving members of the Ilaje League of Professionals led by the Chairman, Engr. Benson Obayelure.
He said the Port will not be to the advantage of the state or the nation alone but to the entire Southwest, stressing that Ondo state is naturally endowed to have a deep sea port with natural draught.
The Governor assured that he will continue to talk to the Federal Government on the need to make the dream of Port Ondo a reality for the good of the country.
Arakunrin Akeredolu also expressed his administration’s commitment to continue to engage the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) on the need to complete the power project in Okitipupa so as to restore electricity to the south.
Earlier, the chairman of the Ilaje League of Professionals, Engr. Benson Obeyelu commended the Governor’s giant strides in the state.
